I got in trouble this morning. Mack and I were running around the back yard barking. My person came out and yelled, “Be Quiet! It’s not even 7:00 yet!” We had to bark to welcome Walter and Trudy’s company. Walter and Trudy are the funny looking dogs that live in the tree next door. My person says they’re not dogs, but they have fur, four legs, and a bushy tail like me, so they must be dogs. What does my person know anyway?
Seems like it’s about this time every year Walter and Trudy have friends stop by. We have fun chasing everyone across the fence and welcoming them as they jump from tree to tree. This morning there must have been about ten of Walter’s buddies out there. Everyone was having a great time running up and down the tree branches playing tag. I told some of the friends not to play so rough though. Come to think of it, I don’t know why Walter and Trudy invite their friends over. Things seem to get out hand. Last year everyone got into a fight. Poor Walter was almost knocked out of the tree. Trudy must have been base for their tag game. Everyone was running up and jumping on her. Then another funny looking dog would knock them off. By the time they were all done playing, Trudy was all disheveled. She must really take playing tag seriously. Her hair was all messed up. She even had patches of fur missing. After everyone finished playing tag, they said goodbye and went home. Trudy didn’t have to be lonely too long. About a month later she had funny looking puppies hanging around her. Wonder if the funny looking puppies will come again this year.
